Some of you might be wondering, what is "Airsoft?"  Airsoft is a type of combat game that is relatively safe, utilizing either electric or gas-powered replica guns which shoot 6mm plastic BB's at speeds or feet per second (FPS)  well below actual firearm speeds.  Most airsoft guns are highly detailed, exact-scale replicas of real firearms, and are capable of shooting quite accurately.  Airsoft games are often set up like military operations on a small scale, with players using either real or replica military clothing, web gear, radio equipment, and of course, replica airsoft guns.  

 The sport of airsoft is not just in the USA: It originated in Japan, and has grown to reach all over the globe. There are many scheduled weekend skirmishes at local fields, and also regional events or "Ops", as we call them, which draw in players from surrounding states, and are sometimes two-day events with simulated towns, scenarios, special effects, and whatever else the event hosts can dream up for a weekend of fun.

 WHY Airsoft?  Well, most people that get involved find that the sport enhances their inner and outer person: it sharpens mental skills through teamwork, map reading, tactics, and stealth, and is also a great form of exercise.  This sport is also a great training aid for military, law enforcement, and privately armed citizens to train in a safe environment to practice decision making concerning the use of firearms skills, as related to combat.  The lack of firearms noise, cost of ammunition, and lead smoke hazards is done away with too.  More questions?
